Ethel strikes again

Ethel reiser handed me 2 more cans of 8mm film from the 1960's after i came home from my annual visit to the silver gull beach club. I think it is the missing 1968 teen trail film reels. Which we had a copy of on vhs tape anyway. By the way Ethel has been going to the Silver gull beach club for over 45 years!! I think she has been declared honorary owner.

2010 Update

The blog was created to inform and reconnect the campers from Teen Trails. Almost 50 dvd's of the old films were distributed. Enjoy the pix by scrolling down. Add your comments to the earliest post, a few below this paragraph.

We have received many great thank you's. There was some extra money collected because more people ordered than we anticipated. The money was donated to the Foundation Fighting Blindness. I have created a team called " the eyepod"

Maxine, the treasurer reports

"Hi, everyone, thanks for the little notes to me in the envelopes."

Maxine can boast that she was President of Fillmore's coop for most of it's 54 year existence, though she has given it up for good.
"People still call me when there's a heating problem... I am always glad to help... I tell them to hang up and call the management office."
"Who calls the management office?" Steve asks.
"Can't you tell from the way I wrote the sentence above?" She teases.
"No" Steve says.
"Well, then it's settled. When are you coming to visit?"

That brings this chat with Maxine to an end.

The non profit teen trail DVD's are all paid for and distributed, so any future orders will be charged the same amount of the first group of lucky teen trailers, to be fair. The entire amount except for the cost of postage and dvd copy will be donated to Foundation fighting Blindness. My addrss is down near the bottom of this site . (sort of hidden in plain sight

The really Lost 1968 roll FOUND!!!!

The Hero: Larry Rabinowitz. Yes Larry. 20 years ago Larry took it upon himself to preserve the films. He had them transferred to VHS at his own expense. Stuck in the pile was 1968. That Film no longer exists. Great shots of the Aladdin Hotel. water skiing. Dancing and some nice shots of me in drag. I was always ahead of my time. Thanks Larry! Now we have to change the years covered by DVD.

Teen Trail Movies

The lost Teen Trail movies have been found!

Thought to have been discarded many years ago by Ethel Reiser, the former director of the summer camp program, after she had them transfered to VHS videotape.

"Why should I have kept  the originals... who projects film anymore." The VHS was then lost or misplaced. (NOT ANYMORE SEE ABOVE POST)  Ethel herself found the original film cans buried in her garage. 

" I told Bernie to throw them away... good thing he didn't listen to me..."

Ethel mused.

So far, Steven Fialkoff, Film & video  editor, sent the 6 inch, 8mm film cans, to be  cleaned and analyzed for future transfer to DVD.

"Hopefully we won't have to lose a frame of the precious footage from 1963 through 1968"

Ethel wants to have a party and invite all those interested in seeing the faces of their fellow teen trailers in 2009 and on screen from over four decades ago. What do you think? Add a comment please.
